What’s one thing you wish you had known in those first 48 hours?
“You don’t have to have it all figured out right away. The plan, the people, the support—it will come, even when everything feels impossible.”
What helped you the most in those first 48 hours?
“The people. The nurses, doctors, child life, and social worker who stepped in immediately and made sure we weren’t doing this alone. Even when I felt completely lost and exhausted.”
What’s is one moment in those first 48 hours that you’ll never forget?
“The moment a group of people walked in… and the room went quiet. The doctor sat close to me, and said, “Your daughter has cancer.” Everything after that felt like slow motion.”
If you could go back, what’s one thing you’d tell yourself?
“You’re stronger than you think, and your daughter is too. You’re going to get through this—even when it feels like you won’t. She is SO resilient.”
