Jayce was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma at one month old. He is currently in treatment.
What’s one thing you wish you had known in those first 48 hours?
“I wish I had know more about what staging and diagnosing the cancer would be like. We went right from the ER to staying in the hospital for over a week, and that was unexpected.”
What helped you the most in those first 48 hours?
“The support of our families and faith in God.”
What’s is one moment in those first 48 hours that you’ll never forget?
“I’ll never forget the moment we knew it was a tumor. The radiology tech had done the ultrasound and left for a bit. After awhile, a bunch of people came into the room and we knew it was something serious.”
If you could go back, what’s one thing you’d tell yourself?
“Trust your gut, you know what is best for your child. We knew pretty quickly that the hospital Jayce was diagnosed at was not able to care for babies. We tried to stick it out, but we eventually went to a larger hospital which was the right choice and he has been well taken care of ever since.”
