The First 48: Landon

Landon was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia at 5 years old. He is a survivor.

What’s one thing you wish you had known in those first 48 hours?

“Even a healthy child can get cancer.”

What helped you the most in those first 48 hours?

“I would say, the oncologist doing every test possible because I was in denial.”

What is one moment in those first 48 hours that you’ll never forget?

“I remember going into the hospital room shower crying, then going to my son’s bed and playing without shedding a tear. Then, having to tell his grandmother that has Giloblastoma that her grandson had cancer too.”

If you could go back, what’s one thing you’d tell yourself?

“I did the impossible with very little knowledge.”
