What’s one thing you wish you had known in those first 48 hours?
“The entire room caved in on me. It’s like being buried alive and the fear and panic is indescribable. As parents we are devastated and desperate for answers for everything and what I wish I could’ve done was be more present for my son and HIS feelings. He passed away at the age 6 after a year and a half battle and I wish so badly I could’ve been more attentive to his emotions and what he was experiencing.”
What helped you the most in those first 48 hours?
“Having my husband by my side.”
What is one moment in those first 48 hours that you’ll never forget?
“Just complete disbelief.”
If you could go back, what’s one thing you’d tell yourself?
“Talk to Kyle about his feelings and be more compassionate about what he’s enduring.”
