Remington was diagnosed with Anaplastic Large Cell Amon Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at 8 years old. He is 2 years into his 2nd remission after a bone marrow transplant from his baby sister.
What is one moment in those first 48 hours that you’ll never forget?
“The way his spirit literally broke before my eyes when they couldn’t get an IV prior to his port placement. It was 4am and they needed to draw labs and he screamed and cried “NO” because he didn’t want to do it anymore and then it broke. His tiny spirit. He gave up because he knew at that moment he lost autonomy of his own body. It shattered my heart. I’ll never forget it.”
If you could go back, what’s one thing you’d tell yourself?
“Breathe.”
